National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Each year, September 30 is recognized across Canada as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. This day honours Indigenous children, families, and communities impacted by residential schools and reminds us that Every Child Matters.
At Montrose, we will come together to mark this important day on October 26 with a school-wide assembly and the Rooted Connection Travelling Art Gallery. The gallery features a collection of art pieces created by artists local to Grande Prairie, including our very own Aunty Loriann. These events give our students the chance to learn, reflect, and celebrate resilience through story and art.
We encourage everyone to wear orange on October 26.
